Autism and Supplementation

Supplements have become an important part of the health industry. There are literally thousands of products on the market that can give your body the added nutrients it needs. People with autism are especially prone to nutritional difficulties and it is important that they take supplements to achieve a balanced nutritional state.

The first step toward addressing autism and supplementation is to adopt a gluten and casein free diet. These proteins have been found to potentially worsen the symptoms of autism. Should you chose to add supplements to your child’s diet, you will need to d so in a controlled manner. Don’t just dole out supplements on an experimental basis. Work with a doctor or a nutritionist to come up with a specific plan that is geared toward your child’s success. This regiment should include frequent tests for metal toxicity, stool analysis, and tests for various amino acids and peptides.

There is a lot to consider when choosing supplements for your child. This process is very important and can improve the overall quality of their life. Do not rush into the process and make sure you cover all the bases before proceeding. Give supplements time to work. Why Do Supplements Make You Sick

I have good news for you! The answer is both yes and no, depending on how you look at it.

NO, the nutriceuticals do not CAUSE anything bad to happen, nor for that matter anything good. They don’t directly get rid of any health problem (as it is easy to mistakenly give them credit for doing), nor do they cause any, such as headaches or rashes.

I like to tell people that the PRODUCTS DO NOT WORK (in directly giving you the results)–the BODY WORKS!

All the products do is provide the body with essential nutrients, and the results from doing that, putting it from the bottle into the body, is that the body creates the results (and the Designer, who made the body to heal itself deserves the credit).

I like to say that the miracle is in the body, not in the bottle. But if you put what’s in the bottle into the body, you can get a miracle.

And, what is in the bottle will not help you unless you put it into your body!

YES– the products can be the reason a person gets a rash or welt, NOT because they caused it, as a drug could cause a side effect, but because the body is creating the rash or welt, or the whatever undesirable effect.

Why would the body do such a thing?

Because it is the most intelligent thing the body can do under the circumstances–it is often referred to as a healing correction. It is actually very good news when a person experiences something perceived as negative, such as a rash or headache. The reason for this is because this is solid evidence that the person REALLY needed the products, and that the body has been awakened and re-energized to do something.

All of a sudden the body has the resources and energy to begin healing itself. Part of this healing process involves getting rid of stored chemicals and toxins that up until now, the body did not have enough energy and resources to do–sort of like not having enough energy and time to clean your house, and after years of minimal cleaning, it accumulates a lot of dirt.

So when you start this overdue “house cleaning”, the dust and dirt get stirred up in the process. To get rid of the dirt, you have to get into it, until the job is completed.

But if the organs of elimination are not able to handle this new load of “dirt” (toxins and chemicals it is now getting rid of), the intelligence of the body realizes that it is TOO DANGEROUS having these toxins floating around in the blood waiting to be expelled through the normal routes, because they can cause too much damage, now that they are out of “storage” (usually in the fat).

So it wisely expels them through EMERGENCY EXITS, such as the skin, which shows up as a rash or welt. This is referred to as a healing correction, or a healing crisis. It is a good sign that the body is doing something to restore its health.

It is sort of like what happens if your foot “goes to sleep.” As it wakes up and the numbness starts to go away, you will feel an uncomfortable prickly feeling, like needles. Sure, this is not comfortable, but it is actually a good sign that your body is recovering, and it is a very temporary problem. Or would you rather the foot stay numb for the rest of your life?

So as your body and organs “wake up”, and the “numbness” inside starts to go away, you will sometimes feel things that are uncomfortable–but if you understand what is really happening, you will be very happy about it.

It’s like the master teacher said 2000 years ago–Do not judge according to appearance, but judge (evaluate, interpret) according to knowledge(righteous judgment).

So what do you do about this uncomfortable healing correction?

1. APPRECIATE it. Be thankful for it–don’t resent it or be afraid of what is happening. If you understand it, you will be glad to endure it.

2. SUPPORT it by doing things to open up the normal passages of elimination, such as drinking plenty of purified water (8-10 glasses or more a day) and getting enough fiber (raw fruit and vegetables, a manna cleanse product). 2-3 tablespoons of refined coconut oil per day may also help with elimination (I[Ray] do this myself everyday for the immune support that coconut oil provides–it is the most healthy oil you can consume. It also supports your thyroid function, which can help you lose weight).

3. BE PATIENT. It usually will only go on for a few days, though sometimes it could be several weeks.

4. If after doing the first three things it is still too severe, you can REDUCE the amount of nutriceutical supplement intake temporarily, so the body can catch up while you are doing the first three things. Reducing the amounts is not necessary, but it is an option–or a person could actually stop taking the product entirely, but I don’t normally recommend that.

Getting the Most Out of Your Supplements and Yourself

Are you not feeling any results from your nutritional supplements?

Here are a few reasons why you might not be feeling results.

1. You need to take more times a day. 3 pills all at once doesn’t work as well as one 3 x day. Its like food, you use it up and need more later for continual repair and wellness. Take it the product 3 x day and no less than twice for sure.

2. You may not be assimilating it. So should get on a manna cleanse supplement or even an herbal intestinal cleanse for a while. Check with your nutritonal source for one that they have good results using. Also take enzymes with your meals or with your supplements to help your body digest them better. You can also take Chinese herbs to build up your digestion. So to recap clean out elimination system, and enhance your digestive system for better assimilation.

3. When symptoms persist,(particularily PMS or Menopausal symptoms) or disease states like fibromyalgia or MS, you need to get on a Candida detox program that gets the bad things eliminated. Once the fungus and yeast are gone, the supplement implications become very noticeable in your diet and stamina. We see this happen all the time.

4. If you have been exposed to colds or other people with weak immune systems and viruses, the supplements may be used to support your immune system instead of giving your relief in the area you wanted it. Stay with the nutritonal program and then they will see results again. The body works in different places at different times. It works in one place then in another and gradually builds up your body. You may feel like the supplement stopped in some areas for a while. Be patient as it may be saving your life by removing some toxins so it can repair and build up more tissue.

Same hold true with the immune response or healing crisis. If you have healing crisis, either the products are poison or you are full of poison. We know the products aren’t poisin! To have health and longevity, we have to eliminate the years worth of accumulations of toxins. This takes time.

5. Supplements help everyone whether they notice it or not. Do you notice your regular food making you feel particularly good? Of course not. Well try not eating it for a few days! Introduing Supplements to Your Body & Improving Your Diet - A Guide of What to Expect

Part 1:

A “better nutritional program” means the introduction of foods and supplements of a higher quality, such as (Mexican Wild) Yam, (mono)saccharides, Phytochemicals or/& Food Form Vitamins, in place of lower quality supplements. The closer the food comes to the natural state in which it occurs, or the closer it comes to its raw, uncooked form, the higher its quality. All the enzymes are found intact when foods are left in this condition and all the protein-containing amino acids are left in their finest form. The minerals, vitamins, trace elements, carbohydrates and “life force” are still present. When these are ingested, the body can reproduce healthy tissue. Think about it: your cells are made from what you eat - so food does effect your health.

If you are really interested in a better nutritional program; omitting highly toxic substances such as coffee, caffeinated teas, chocolate, tobacco, salt, and highly preserved and processed foods like sugar, white flour and chemical additives; will give you some definitely desirable results. Basically omit anything that comes in a bag, box, jar, or can. The higher quality of food that you eat, the faster you will reap the benefits in health, energy, and clarity of thinking. Assimilating and properly digesting higher quality foods enables the body to discard lower grade materials and tissues to make room for the superior materials which it uses to make new and healthier tissue. If we would stop interfering with the normal process of the body by overloading it with lower quality substances, it would function more freely to improve its health. That is always its aim and the plan of nature and adaptation. By observing the self-curing nature of colds, fevers, cuts, swellings, injuries, & etc. it is obvious that the body is always attempting to heal and repair itself except when we interfere with the process.

Part: 2 REMOVING THE TOXINS

When we first begin to omit the lower grade foods and instead introduce superior substances (which may supply nutrients our body can use to make the building blocks that we have been deficient in) and also when we suddenly reduce or stop using toxic foods, etc. we may experience headaches and or a letdown. This is because the body is discarding toxins which have been removed from the tissues and transported through the bloodstream during its bodily rounds. Before these noxious agents reach their final destination for elimination, these irritants register in our consciousness as discomforts. These toxins may also cause our liver and kidneys to work harder to process years of accumulated wastes out of our system in a short time. But if we don’t go through this process at some time, the accumulation will continue and our health will decline until something drastic occurs. The energy letdown may be due to the slower action of the heart, resulting from a resting phase. The resting phase follows the stimulation of the more rapid heart action which has been forced upon the body by certain toxins in our foods. Also fatigue may appear from energy being shifted from the live cycle to the heal and repair cycle. The discomfort will usually vanish within several days, and we will then feel stronger due to the repair which follows. Then this process may repeat again and again until our bodily systems are clean and rebuilt.

One reason people fail with their new nutritional program is that they lack understanding of how the body works. They are misled to believe that they felt better with their old habits and diet before they changed. They fail because they do not give the body a chance to adjust and complete its phase of cleansing and recuperative action. If they would wait a little while longer they would begin to feel better than before they started. The body’s power has been increased, but since this increased energy is used to discharge poisons via skin, sinus, lung, eyes, ears, the mind misinterprets it as some weakness. Any weakness which is felt here is not true weakness, but merely a gathering of the forces for the rebuilding of the more important internal parts. Here it is essential for us to stop wasting energy and to rest and sleep more. It is important to have patience and faith and just wait it out, realizing that the years of improper diet are the only reason for our discomfort and that the body is receiving a blessing during this crucial phase. After a short time, we will get increased strength which will far exceed what we felt before we began the new program. Be consistent in your use of a nutritional program so the body can develop a steady process of repair without interuptions. As one continues on the improved nutrition and gradually raises the food quality, interesting enough symptoms begin to appear in the first phase called catabolism. Here, the body begins a process called “retracing”. The cellular intelligence immediately starts getting rid of the toxic buildup throughout the body, ridding the liver and gall bladder of excess bile by sending it to the intestine to trigger the process of elimination, removing the “sludge” out of the arteries, veins and capillaries, cleaning up deposits in the joints, ridding the body of effects from irritating food preservatives, aspirins, sleeping pills and drugs along with other masses of excess fat which have made life so burdensome for us for so long. This may manifest itself in loose stools or constipation overload. Extra fiber is essential to keep the ’sewer line’ removing toxins.

Part 3: NEXT PHASES - FORMING NEW TISSUES AND INCREASING ENERGY

The second phase is called stabilization. During this phase, the amount of waste material being discarded daily is equal to the amount of tissue which is being formed and replaced by the newer, more vital and nutritious food. This occurs after the excess obstructing material in the tissues has been removed. This stage is followed by a third phase which is called anabolism. Due to the improved assimilation, new tissues are now being formed faster and are more durable and do not break down easily. The body’s need for more food is decreased; therefore we are able to maintain our weight and increased energies with less food. With the use of live concentrared food supplements and herbs many people are able to maintain optimum energy and health with only two meals a day. As the body progressively increases in efficiency and decreases in tissue breakdown under exercise, so do we gradually need less and less food to maintain life.

Part 4: HOW MUCH?

The higher the percentage of raw or live food one lives on, the slower the rate of tissue deterioration. A healthy body requires a gradual, carefully worked out entry into this stage, where one is able to live on a higher percent of raw food. For some people, it is important that they start with a very small quantity of each nutrient, such as 1/2 tablet once or twice a day in the beginning. This will enable the body to adjust to having such a high quality substance in it, without too fast of a cleansing effect. Most people are able to start with higher amounts. However, some people may be holding medicine, drugs and highly toxic matter, or viruses in their tissues due to their past diet, and upon the introduction of nutrients like these to the body, its natural response is to start a cleansing and cell rebuilding program. It is best, therefore, to start by using a fiber product and 8-10 glasses of pure spring water away from supplements to help dilute the poisons and carry them away rapidly. This should help to minimize the uncomfortableness of detoxing.

Part 5: DEALING WITH THE SYMPTOMS

You may be eating perfectly with regard to quantity, quality and observing all of the correct rules, and still undesirable symptoms may occur. Those who have eaten better foods in the past and have not abused their bodies with overeating, will have detoxing ranging from almost nothing at all or very mild, to symptoms which may be uncomfortable. Those who have eaten quantities of candy, ice cream, processed foods, etc. and have poisoned themselves more, might experience more symptoms if their liver, kidneys or other important eliminating organs have been weakened. When they have been renovated to the point of fair working order, they will no longer produce symptoms so noticeable. Even though you may be one of the ones who followed all of the rules of proper nutrition, you must realize that it is almost impossible not to take in a certain amount of toxins and heavy metals with the very air that you breathe and water that you drink. The symptoms will vary according to the materials being discarded, the condition of the organs involved in the elimination, and the amount of energy you have available. The more you rest and sleep when symptoms are present, the milder they are and the more quickly they are completed. Be happy that you are having symptoms! Realize deeply that your body is becoming younger and healthier every day because you are throwing off more and more wastes which would have eventually brought rapid aging and much suffering. Those who have the worst symptoms-reactions and stick with the dietary improvements until their successful termination, are thus avoiding some of the worst conditions which would eventually have developed, had they continued their careless eating habits. Remember it is very rare that anyone would be allergic to top quality food supplements. The effects are usually due to a healing crisis and not because the product makes you sick or allergic. The key is to find those few rare manufacturers who not only claim to have no junk on their label; but who really use only pure products of high quality. Remember, though many people may have some good experiences within days or weeks, some people may not become aware of benefits for a few months. Often things may be going on inside our bodies that are beneficial though we do not notice them. Be aware that if you continue to put toxic foods into your body while using food supplements, the body may be strong enough to just keep detoxing each new poison as you put it in. So for optimal health, try to discontinue dead toxic foods. Eventually as the cleansing work is done we may get noticeable benefits too.

So plan on making a 3-4 month comittement to steady & consistent use of a pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements. Take them 3 times a day so you can notice the benefits. Also realize there may be other factors impairing your renewal - not addressed by the items you are using. Vitamin A - The Glow-in-the-dark Vitamin

The ancient Egyptians had a cure for “night blindness”. They fed the patient lots and lots of liver. Perhaps they thought they were appeasing the Gods of sight. In 1930, the first fat-soluble vitamin was discovered - vitamin A - which, it turns out, does indeed appease the Gods of sight.

Vitamin A is best known for improving eyesight, particularly at night, which is one of two reasons we call it the glow-in-the-dark vitamin. But the eyes are not the only part of your body grateful for your generous consumption of vitamin A.

Your skin also benefits. And your hair. And mucous membranes. And nails. In fact, almost any surface lining your body can find.

Your immune system benefits, too, giving you added resources to ward off infections. Bones and teeth are strengthened with proper amounts of vitamin A, and even the risk of some cancers can be reduced with vitamin A.

And there are more confirmed and suspected benefits.

The other reason we call Vitamin A the glow-in-the-dark vitamin is because it is best known as the bright orange color in so many foods we enjoy. But again, vitamin A is much more than meets the eye, because it is not actually vitamin A that turns the fruit and vegetables orange, but a precursor to vitamin A called beta carotene. Beta carotene does not become vitamin A until your body processes it.

And vitamin A is just as likely, if not more so, to come from protein sources such as most dairy products, egg yolks and some fish. And the queen of all vitamin A sources is liver, that ancient Egyptian God of sight. Calves liver. Chicken liver. Pork liver. Any liver you can sink your teeth into.

The vitamin A in protein sources is real vitamin A, no processing required.

Other great sources of vitamin A are dark green vegetables, such as Swiss chard, broccoli, spinach and beet greens.

As important as it is to glow with vitamin A, don’t glow too brightly. An overdose can be harmful to bones and skin, causing weakness and brittleness, even leading to fatigue and vomiting.

It is advisable not to take a vitamin A supplement except under the supervision of a physician. In most cases, it is much better to take a liquid multivitamin such as Essential Nectar in recommended daily doses. There is very little chance of getting an overdose that way.

Also, increase your intake of beta carotene sources to avoid an overdose. Whereas your body absorbs all the vitamin A it takes in directly, it converts only the beta carotene it needs (talk about customization!).

So get glowing and get the vitamin A you need.

The Undercover Vitamin

There is a secret vitamin in the neighborhood, wandering around your body under cover. This “vitamin” has just one single purpose, although some researchers believe he has ulterior motives. He goes by the inconspicuous codename of “D” - Vitamin D.

Don’t be fooled by his clever disguise. D is no vitamin. He’s a steroid hormone, slipping through your body under guise of a vitamin. And he doesn’t have dozens of functions, like vitamin C or vitamin E, just one vital mission - to mineralize your bones!

Mineralization is a key objective of every body. Imagine if we all had flabby bones. The world would look like a Salvador Dali nightmare. Vitamin D saves us from having flabby bones.

More importantly, vitamin D saves us from having brittle bones. He prevents us from rickets and osteomalacia by balancing the calcium and phosphorous in our blood. Ooh, that D is a clever one. Not only is he a master of disguises, but he is a master chemist, constantly monitoring, measuring and balancing the mix so it just right to ensure everybody has strong and healthy bones.

Word on the grapevine is that 30% to 40% of hip fractures in elderly people are the result of insufficient vitamin D. So we caught up with D, and managed to slip away with a rare interview transcript:

“D, some of your fans can’t get enough of you. What should they do?”

“Get plenty of sun. That is the key. Where the sun touches your skin, that’s where I will be.”

“But, D, what about people who can’t? What about people in the far north, or those who wear head-to-toe clothing or who are stuck indoors?”

“If you find yourself overdressed in a dungeon in Mongolia, get a good multi-vitamin supplement.”

“D, that’s a wonderful idea.”

“Or drink lots of milk, fortified with me, of course. Some breakfast cereals are fortified with me, too. I also hang out in a lot of saltwater fish, like tuna and sardines and herring and salmon. And I love to slip around in the ol’ cod liver oil.”

“So if we can’t get enough sun, milk and fish will do the trick.”

“That’s right, but be careful about milk products. Not all of them are made with fortified milk. I make no commitment to be there if they are not.”

“What about the supplements, D?”

“A good multivitamin supplement should do it for most people. Get a liquid supplement, cause those pills just don’t digest. You just end up flushing me down the toilet…ooh, I hate that feeling.”

“Yuck.”

“And you shouldn’t need a specific vitamin D supplement, because it is possible to overdose. And you wouldn’t want too much of a guy like me around.”
